‘পর্দা প্রথা’ ইসলামের একটি চিরন্তন ব্যবস্থা, যা প্রত্যেক মুসলিমদের নর-নারীদের অবশ্য পালনীয় কর্তব্য। ইসলাম পর্দা পালনের যে বিধান দিয়েছে তা মূলত সমাজে বিদ্যমান অশ্লীলতা ও ব্যভিচার বন্ধের জন্যই। মানবসমাজকে পাপ-পঙ্কিলতা থেকে দূরে রাখতে পর্দার বিধানের কোনো বিকল্প নেই। বিশেষ করে বর্তমান প্রেক্ষাপটে নারীদের নিরাপত্তার জন্য পর্দা ও হিজাবের পূর্ণ অনুসরণ এখন সময়ের দাবি।

পর্দা বা হিজাব পরিচিতি

পর্দা শব্দটি মূলত ফারসী। পর্দার আরবী প্রতিশব্দ হলো হিজাব। এর আক্ষরিক অর্থ হলো- কাপড় দিয়ে নিজের সৌন্দর্য ঢেকে নেয়া বা গোপন করা। ইসলামের ভাষায়, নারী ও পুরুষ উভয়ের চারিত্রিক পবিত্রতা অর্জনের জন্য নির্ধারিত যে আবরণের আদেশ রয়েছে তাকে পর্দা বলা হয়। আবার এভাবেও বলা যায়, একজন নারী তার বাহ্যিক ও আভ্যন্তরীণ রূপলাবণ্য ও সৌর্ন্দয পরপুরুষের দৃষ্টি থেকে গোপন করার যে বিশেষ ব্যবস্থা ইসলামে রয়েছে তাই হলো পর্দা বা হিজাব।

মূলত হিজাব বা পর্দা অর্থ শুধু পোশাকের আবরণ নয়, বরং সামগ্রিক একটি সমাজ ব্যবস্থা, যাতে নারী-পুরুষের মধ্যে অবৈধ সম্পর্ক এবং নারীর প্রতি পুরুষের অনৈতিক আচরণ রোধের বিভিন্ন ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে। পর্দা নারীর সৌন্দর্য, ইজ্জত-আব্রুর রক্ষাকবচ। তাই পর্দা পালন করা ফরজ। তবে পর্দা মুসলিম নারীদের সৌন্দর্য হলেও তা কিন্তু পালন করা পুরুষদের জন্যও ফরজ করা হয়েছে।

পর্দা ও হিজাব সম্পর্কে কুরআনের নির্দেশ

পর্দা ইসলামের সার্বক্ষণিক পালনীয় আবশ্যক একটি বিধান। স্বয়ং আল্লাহ তা’আলাই এ বিধানের প্রবর্তক। এ বিধানকে হালকা মনে করা কিংবা এ বিধানকে অমান্য করার কোনো অবকাশ নেই।

মহান রাব্বুল আলামিন নারীদের পর্দা ও হিজাবের নির্দেশ দিয়ে বলেন-

আদর্শ জীবনসঙ্গী খুঁজতে

হে নবী! ‘ঈমানদার নারীদেরকে বলুন, তারা যেন তাদের দৃষ্টিকে নত রাখে এবং তাদের যৌন অঙ্গের হেফাযত করে। তারা যেন যা সাধারণতঃ প্রকাশমান, তা ছাড়া তাদের সৌন্দর্য প্রদর্শন না করে এবং তারা যেন তাদের মাথার ওড়না বক্ষ দেশে ফেলে রাখে এবং তারা যেন তাদের স্বামী, পিতা, শ্বশুর, পুত্র, স্বামীর পুত্র, ভ্রাতা, ভ্রাতুস্পুত্র, ভগ্নিপুত্র, স্ত্রীলোক অধিকারভুক্ত দাসী, যৌনকামনামুক্ত পুরুষ ও বালক, যারা নারীদের গোপন অঙ্গ সম্পর্কে অজ্ঞ, তাদের ব্যতিত কারো কাছে তাদের সৌন্দর্য প্রকাশ না করে, তারা যেন তাদের গোপন সাজ-সজ্জা প্রকাশ করার জন্য জোরে পদচারণা না করে। (সুরা নূরঃ আয়াত ৩১)

আল্লাহ তা’আলা ইরশাদ করেন-

“(হে নারীগণ!) তোমরা তোমাদের ঘরের ভিতর অবস্থান কর এবং বাইরে বের হইয়োনা– যেমন ইসলামপূর্ব জাহিলী যুগের মেয়েরা বের হত।” (সূরা আহযাবঃ আয়াত ৪৩)

পবিত্র কুরআনে বলা হয়েছে-

“(হে নবী!) আপনি আপনার পত্মীগণকে ও কন্যাগণকে এবং মুমিনদের স্ত্রীগণকে বলুন, যখন কোন প্রয়োজনে বাইরে বের হতে হয়, তখন তারা যেন তাদের চাদরের কিয়দাংশ নিজেদের উপর টেনে নেয়। (যেন পর্দার ফরজ লংঘন না করে। এমনকি চেহারাও যেন খোলা না রাখে। তারা যেন বড় চাদরের ঘোমটা দ্বারা নিজেদের চেহারাকে আবৃত করে রাখে।) ফলে তাদেরকে উত্যক্ত করা হবে না। আল্লাহ ক্ষমাশীল ও পরম দয়ালু। (সূরা আহযাবঃ আয়াত ৬০)

পর্দা ও হিজাব সম্পর্কে হাদীস কি বলে?

পর্দা ছাড়া নারীরা হচ্ছে জগতের সবচেয়ে নিকৃষ্টতম নারী। তাদের ব্যাপারে বিশ্বনবী হযরত মুহাম্মাদ (সা) বলেন-

তোমাদের স্ত্রীদের মধ্যে সবচেয়ে নিকৃষ্ট তারাই যারা পর্দাহীনভাবে চলাফেরা করে। (বায়হাকীঃ ১৩২৫৬)

নবী করিম (সা) বলেন-

দুই শ্রেণীর জাহান্নামীদেরকে আমি দেখিনি। এক, এমন সম্প্রদায়, যাদের হাতে গরুর লেজের মত চাবুক থাকবে, আর সেই চাবুক দিয়ে তারা (অন্যায়ভাবে) মানুষকে প্রহার করবে। আর দুই, এমন নারী, যারা পোশাক পরিধান করা সত্ত্বেও নগ্ন। তারা অন্যদেরকে তাদের প্রতি আকৃষ্ট করে এবং নিজেরাও অন্যদের প্রতি আকৃষ্ট হয়। তাদের মাথা হবে উটের হেলে পড়া কুঁজের মতো। তারা জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করবে না, এমনকি জান্নাতের সুঘ্রাণও পাবে না, অথচ জান্নাতের সুঘ্রাণ অনেক অনেক দূর থেকেও পাওয়া যায়। (মুসলিমঃ ৫৪৪৫)

হযরত আব্দুল্লাহ ইবনে উমর (রা) বর্ণনা করেন, রসূলুল্লাহ (সা) বলেছেন-

তিন শ্রেণীর লোক জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করবে না। প্রথমত, যে পিতা-মাতার অবাধ্যকারী। দ্বিতীয়ত, দাইয়ুস (অর্থাৎ এমন পুরুষ, যে তার অধীনস্ত নারীদেরকে পর্দায় রাখে না)। তৃতীয়ত, পুরুষের ন্যায় চলাফেরা করে যে নারী (অর্থাৎ বেপর্দা নারী)। (মুসতাদরাকুল হাকিমঃ ২৪৪)

রাসূলুল্লাহ (সা) আরো ইরশাদ করেন –

“খবরদার! কোন পুরুষ যেন কোন মেয়েলোকের সাথে একাকী না থাকে। কেননা, যখনই কোন পুরুষ কোন মেয়েলোকের সাথে একাকী হয়, তখনই শয়তান তাদের তৃতীয়জন হয়ে যায় এবং তাদের পিছনে লাগে।” (তিরমিযী)

সুতরাং এসব হাদীস থেকে পর্দাহীনতার ভয়াবহ পরিণতি সম্পর্কে জানা যায়। তাই জান্নাত প্রত্যাশী কোনো নারী কিছুতেই পর্দা ছাড়া থাকতে পারে না। তাছাড়া যেসব পুরুষ তাদের অধীনস্ত নারীদের পর্দায় রাখার চেষ্টা করে না, তাদের জন্যও রয়েছে জাহান্নামে কঠিন শাস্তি।

হিজাব বা পর্দা করার নিয়ম

একজন নারীকে প্রধানত (এছাড়া আরও নিয়ম রয়েছে) ঘরে অবস্থানকালীন এবং বাইরে গমনকালীন সময়ে পর্দা করার আলাদা হুকুম রয়েছে। পবিত্র কুরআন ও সুন্নাহ অনুযায়ী এই প্রত্যেকটি পর্যায়ে যথাযথভাবে পর্দা রক্ষা করে চলতে হবে।

মুসলিম নারীদের উচিত ঘরের ভেতরে এমনভাবে অবস্থান করা যাতে আত্মীয় বা অনাত্মীয় কোনো গায়রে মাহরাম বা পরপুরুষের দৃষ্টিতে সে না পড়ে। নারী নিজেকে যত সংযত ও আবৃত রাখবে, মহান আল্লাহ তা’আলার কাছে সে ততোই প্রিয় হয়ে উঠবে।

রাসূল (সা) বলেন-

নারী তার পালনকর্তার সর্বাধিক নিকটে তখনই থাকে যখন সে তার গৃহে অবস্থান করে। (সহীহ ইবনে হিব্বানঃ ৫৫৯৯)

এ প্রসঙ্গে আল্লাহ তায়ালা বলেন-

যখন তোমরা কিছু চাইবে, পর্দার আড়াল থেকে চাইবে। এ বিধান তোমাদের ও তাদের অন্তরের জন্য অধিকতর পবিত্রতার কারণ। (সূরা আহযাব: ৫৩)

অর্থাৎ নারীরা সবসময় পর্দার আড়াল থেকেই কথা বলবে। এবং পরপুরুষদেরকেও পর্দার আড়াল থেকেই কথা বলতে হবে। নারীরা এমনভাবে ঘরে অবস্থান করবে যাতে নিকটাত্মীয় বা দূরাত্মীয় কোনো গায়রে মাহরাম বা বেগানা পুরুষের নজরে সে না পড়ে। গৃহে অবস্থানকালীন মুহুর্তে এভাবে পর্দাবৃত থাকা নারীর জন্য কর্তব্য।

ঘরের বাইরে পর্দা ও হিজাবের হুকুম

প্রয়োজনের তাগিদে নারীদের বাড়ির বাইরে যাওয়ার দরকার হয়। তবে এক্ষেত্রেও পর্দা করেই বাইরে বের হতে হবে। কিছুতেই পর্দাহীনভাবে বের হওয়া যাবে না। এ প্রসঙ্গে বিশ্বনবী (সা) বলেন-

নারী পর্দাবৃত থাকার বস্তু, যখনই সে পর্দাহীনভাবে বের হয় তখন শয়তান তার দিকে উঁকি মেরে তাকায়। (তিরমিযীঃ ১১৭৩)

বাইরে বের হবার আগে পুরো শরীর বড় এবং মোটা চাদর দ্বারা অথবা সমগ্র শরীর ঢাকা যায় এমন বোরকা দ্বারা আবৃত করতে হবে। মাথা থেকে পা পর্যন্ত শরীরের কোনো অংশ খোলা রাখা যাবে না। চেহারা, উভয় হাত কব্জিসহ এবং উভয় পা টাখনুসহ আবৃত করতে হবে। পথ-ঘাট দেখার জন্য শুধু চোখ খোলা রাখা যাবে। প্রয়োজনে হাত ও পায়ের মোজা এবং চেহারার জন্য আলাদা নেকাব ব্যবহার করতে হবে।

তাছাড়া নারীরা ঘরের বাইরে যাওয়ার আগে অবশ্যই স্বামী বা অভিভাবকের অনুমতি গ্রহণ করতে হবে। বের হবার আগে মেক-আপ করবে না এবং কোনো ধরনের সুগন্ধি ব্যবহার করা যাবে না। যদি দূরে কোথাও সফরে যায় তাহলে মাহরাম পুরুষের সাথে যেতে হবে।

মাহরাম ও গায়রে মাহরাম কি?

যেসব পুরুষদেরকে দেখা বা কথা বলা নারীদের জন্য নিষিদ্ধ, তারা হচ্ছে বেগানা বা গায়রে মাহরাম। ভাসুর, দেবর, চাচা শশুর, মামা শশুর, ভাসুরের ছেলে, দেবরের ছেলে, ননদের ছেলে, স্বামীর খালু-ফুফা, খালাতো, মামাতো, চাচাতো, ফুফাতো ভাই, খালু, ফুফা, খালাতো-ফুফাতো ভাই এবং মামাতো-চাচাতো ভাই সবাই গায়রে মাহরামের অন্তর্ভুক্ত। এছাড়া দুলাভাই, ভাসুর ও ভাসুরের ছেলে, দেবর ও দেবরের ছেলে, ননদের স্বামী ও তার ছেলে সবার সামনে অবশ্যই হিজাব বা পর্দা করতে হবে।

আর যাদের সাথে বিবাহ করা হারাম (স্বামী ব্যতীত), তাদেরকে মাহরাম বলা হয়। মেয়েদের জন্য স্বামীর পিতা, আপন পিতা, আপন ভাই, বিমাতা ভাই, সতীনের ছেলে, আপন মামা, আপন চাচা, আপন ছেলে, আপন ভগ্নির পুত্র এরা মাহরাম হিসেবে গণ্য হবে।

পোশাকের ব্যাপারে ইসলামের নীতিমালা

ইসলামী শরীয়াহ মোতাবেক, পরিধেয় বস্ত্র এমন আঁটসাঁট ও ছোট মাপের হতে পারবে না, যা পরলে শরীরের সাথে লেপ্টে থাকে এবং দৈহিক গঠন ও বিভিন্ন অঙ্গ-প্রত্যঙ্গ ফুটে ওঠে। যেমন পাতলা সুতির কাপড়, নেটের কাপড় ইত্যাদি। অবশ্য পাতলা কাপড়ের নিচে সেমিজ জাতীয় কিছু ব্যবহার করলে তা পরা যাবে।

পোশাকের ক্ষেত্রে পশ্চিমা সংস্কৃতি, কাফের ও মুশরিকদের অনুসরণ করা যাবে না। এবং পোশাকের মাধ্যমে অহংকার ও লোকের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করা যাবে না। এ প্রসঙ্গে রাসূল (সা) বলেন,

যে ব্যক্তি দুনিয়াতে সুখ্যাতি ও প্রদর্শনীর পোশাক পরবে আল্লাহ তাআলা কেয়ামতের দিন তাকে লাঞ্ছনার পোশাক পরাবেন। (মুসনাদে আহমদঃ ৬২৪৫; সুনানে আবু দাউদঃ ৪০২৫)

হযরত আবু হুরায়রা রা. থেকে বর্ণিত, তিনি বলেন, রাসূল (সা) ইরশাদ করেছেন-

যে ব্যক্তি অহংকারবশত মাটিতে কাপড় টেনে টেনে চলে আল্লাহ তাআলা কিয়ামতের দিন তার দিকে দৃষ্টিপাত করবেন না। (সহীহ বুখারীঃ ৫৭৮৮; সহীহ মুসলিমঃ ২০৮৭)

পুরুষদের জন্য মেয়েলী পোশাক এবং নারীদের জন্য পুরুষদের পোশাক পরা এবং একে অন্যের সাদৃশ্য গ্রহণ করা সম্পূর্ণ নিষিদ্ধ। নারীর পোশাক পরিধানকারী পুরুষকে এবং পুরুষের পোশাক পরিধানকারিনী নারীকে রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম লানত করেছেন।

পর্দা কি শুধুই নারীদের জন্য?

অনেক পুরুষই মনে করেন, পর্দা বা হিজাবের বিধান শুধুই নারীর জন্য যা সম্পূর্ণ ভ্রান্তেএকটি ধারণা। নারীদের পাশাপশি পুরুষদেরও পর্দা অপরিহার্য। পুরুষরা নারীদের প্রতি লোলুপ দৃষ্টিতে তাকাতে পারবে না এবং আকর্ষিক কোন দৃষ্টিভঙ্গিতে কথা বা তার আদান-প্রদান করা যাবেনা। পরপুরুষ ও পরনারী পরস্পর এমনভাবে কথা বলতে পারবে না যার কারণে দু’জনের মধ্যে যৌন লোভ সৃষ্টি হয়। পুরুষদের চোখের পর্দা সম্পর্কে মহানবী (সা) বলেছেন-

যদি কোন মহিলার দিকে হঠাৎ চোখের দৃষ্টি পড়ে যায়, তাৎক্ষণিকভবে দৃষ্টি সরিয়ে নেবে এবং তার দিকে দ্বিতীয় দৃষ্টি দেবেনা। দ্বিতীয় বারের দৃষ্টি ক্ষমাযোগ্য নয়।

আল্লাহ তাআলা আমাদেরকে হেফাযত করুন এবং পুরোপুরিভাবে পর্দা মেনে চলার তাওফীক দান করুন। আমীন।
