মিসেস আফরোজা একজন সাকসেসফুল হাউজওয়াইফ এবং এক ছেলের মা। মিসেস আফরোজা উচ্চশিক্ষিতা, রুচিশীল এবং মার্জিত চরিত্রের। কিন্তু বহু গুণের অধিকারী হলে কি হবে, মিসেস আফরোজা সারাক্ষণ মনমরা হয়ে বসে থাকেন। তার মুখে হাসি নেই, মনে শান্তি নেই। কেন? কারণ স্বামী রাশেদ সাহেব যে তাকে সব সময় সন্দেহ করেন। তিনি হয়তো ফোনটা হাতে নিয়েছেন শুধু, অমনি তার স্বামী পেছন থেকে প্রশ্ন করলেন: কে ফোন দিয়েছে অথবা কাকে ফোন দিচ্ছো? অথবা শপিংমলে গেছেন, হাতে দুই তিনটা শপিং ব্যাগ। রাশেদ সাহেব হঠাৎ করে পাশ থেকে জোরে চিৎকার করে বললেন: ওই ছেলেটি তোমার দিকে তাকিয়ে আছে কেন? তুমি চেনো ছেলেটাকে? ছেলেটি কি তোমায় অফার করেছে?

স্বামী রাশেদ সাহেবের সবসময় এরকম সন্দেহজনক কথায় মিসেস আফরোজা থমকে যান, মুখের ভাষা হারিয়ে যায়। রাগে, দুঃখে, অপমানে তিনি চুপ করে থাকেন। ঘৃণায়, অপমানে নিজেকে আরো বেশি গুটিয়ে ফেলেন নিজের ভেতর। শামুকের মতো জীবনযাপন শুরু করে দেন। তবুও তার স্বামীর সন্দেহ দূর হয় না। দিন দিন বাড়তে থাকে এই সন্দেহ প্রবণতা। হ্যাঁ, আমাদের আজকের পোস্ট সন্দেহ প্রবণতা নিয়েই।

পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে সুন্দর সম্পর্কটি হচ্ছে স্বামী-স্ত্রীর পারস্পরিক সম্পর্ক হচ্ছে। অথচ আমাদের চারপাশে তাকালে আমরা দেখতে পাই নিজেদের ছোট ছোট কিছু ভুলে কিংবা অসচেতনতায় অথবা অবহেলায় এই সুন্দর সম্পর্কটা দিনকে দিন তিক্ত হয়ে যাচ্ছে। একই ছাদের নীচে বসবাস করলেও স্বামী-স্ত্রী যেনো থাকেন যোজন যোজন দূরে। সুন্দর একটি সম্পর্কে দ্বন্দ্ব-কলহ লেগে থাকলে তার প্রভাব পরে সন্তানদের ওপর। তাঁরা নিজেদের অজান্তেই সন্তানকে হতাশা আর অন্ধকারে ঠেলে দিচ্ছেন। যে কোনো সম্পর্কের সবচাইতে মূল্যবান ‘ভিত’ হচ্ছে “বিশ্বাস”। যেটা যে-কোনো সম্পর্কেই অত্যন্ত জরুরি। আমার স্বল্প জ্ঞানে মনে হয় বিশ্বাস না থাকলে সেখানে সম্পর্কের অস্তিত্ব প্রশ্নবিদ্ধ। বিশ্বাস যখন থাকে না তখন দেখা দেয় ‘সন্দেহপ্রবণতা’।

সন্দেহ প্রবণতার কারণ

এখনকার সময়ে দম্পতিদের মধ্যে স্বামী অফিস থেকে ফিরে ফ্রেশ হয়েই ব্যস্ত হয়ে পড়েন ফেসবুক ও ইউটিউবের রাজ্যে। অন্যদিকে সারাদিন অপেক্ষায় থাকা স্ত্রীর মনের হতাশাগুলো আক্ষেপে পরিণত হতে থাকে, তৈরী হয় দুরত্ব। ক্রমশ: তারা দূরে সরতে থাকেন। একটু একটু বিরক্তি, হতাশা আর ক্ষোভের সমন্বয়ে জন্মাতে থাকে সন্দেহ। এই সন্দেহ আরো মাত্রা ছাডিয়ে যায় যদি স্ত্রীও চাকুরিজীবি হন অথবা যদি কিছু ছেলেবন্ধু থাকে।

কেউ যদি কাউকে প্রচণ্ডরকম ভালোবাসে তাহলে তার মনের মধ্যে সব সময় হারানোর একটা ভয় কাজ করে। এই হারানোর ভয় থেকেই সৃষ্টি হয় সন্দেহের। অনেক সময় পিতা-মাতা তাদের ছেলে-মেয়েদের অনেক বেশি ভালোবাসেন আর এই বেশি ভালোবাসা থেকেই তারা সন্তানদের সব সময় সন্দেহ করতে থাকেন। ফলে সন্তানের সাথে পিতামাতার সম্পর্কের অবনতি ঘটতে থাকে। সন্তান পিতামাতাকে ভুল বুঝে দূরে সরে যায়। বন্ধু বান্ধবের সাথে নানা রকম অপরাধে জড়িয়ে পড়ে।

আদর্শ জীবনসঙ্গী খুঁজতে

আবার স্ত্রী অথবা স্বামীও একে অপরকে প্রচণ্ড ভালোবাসা থেকেও সন্দেহ করতে শুরু করে। পারস্পারিক সন্দেহ আর ভুল বোঝাবুঝির কারণে নষ্ট হয়ে যায় তাদের পারিবারিক সম্পর্ক। অনেক সময় ভেঙে যায় তাদের পারিবারিক বন্ধন। আশপাশের চেনা জানা কারো পরকীয়া বা অন্য কোনো নতুন সম্পর্ক গড়ে উঠতে দেখলে মনের মধ্যে সন্দেহের দানা বাঁধতে শুরু করে। সহকর্মীদের পরকীয়ায় জরাতে দেখে নিজের ঘরের স্ত্রীকেও সন্দেহ করতে শুরু করেন অনেকে। অনেক পিতা মাতাও অন্যের বখে যাওয়া সন্তানকে দেখে নিজের সন্তানের প্রতি সন্দেহের তীর ছুঁড়তে শুরু করেন। সন্তানের ওপর অবিশ্বাস বাড়তে থাকে। বাড়তে থাকে সংসারের অশান্তি।

সন্দেহ প্রবণতা দূর করার উপায়

প্রথমেই আপনার মনের সন্দেহপ্রবণতা কী স্বাভাবিক পর্যায়ের, নাকি তা অসুস্থতা সেটা বোঝার চেষ্টা করুন। এজন্য প্রয়োজন হলে ডাক্তারের সাথে খোলাখুলিভাবে কথা বলুন। সুনির্দিষ্ট বাস্তব কোনো প্রমাণ না থাকলে অকারণে সন্দেহ করবেন না এবং সন্দেহমূলক প্রশ্ন করে অযথাই সুন্দর একটি সম্পর্কের জটিলতা বাড়াবেন না। কেননা যাকে সন্দেহ করছেন তিনি যদি সত্যিই সন্দেহের কিছু না করে থাকেন, তবে তার জন্য বিষয়টি একই সঙ্গে অপমানজনক, কষ্টকর এবং রাগের কারণ হয়ে দাঁড়াবে। আর যদি স্বামী বা স্ত্রীর বিরুদ্ধে সুনির্দিষ্ট বাস্তব প্রমাণ থাকে, তাহলে বিষয়টা আগে ভালোভাবে বোঝার চেষ্টা করুন।

খুব ইতিবাচক পদ্ধতিতে সুন্দরভাবে সঙ্গীকে আপনার সন্দেহের বিষয়টি জিজ্ঞেস করুন। যদি মনে হয় আপনার স্বামী বা স্ত্রী আপনাকে ভুল বোঝাচ্ছেন, সব কিছু লুকাচ্ছেন, তবে দুজনের সম্মতিতে আলোচনায় বসুন। আপনি আপনার প্রমাণগুলো উপস্থাপন করুন। এরপরও সমস্যার সমাধান না হলে মুরুব্বীদের অথবা ম্যারেজ কাউন্সেলরের পরামর্শ নিন।

ওষুধ না মেডিটেশন?

সন্দেহ প্রবণতা থেকে দূরে থাকতে অযথা ওষুধ খাবেন না। মনে রাখবেন, মনের সমস্যা দূর করার একমাত্র ওষুধ হলো মেডিটেশন বা ধ্যান। প্রতিদিন সকাল-বিকেল মেডিটেশন অভ্যাস করুন করলে এই ধরনের ব্যাধি থেকে মুক্ত থাকতে পারবেন। মেডিটেশন এই ধরনের মানসিক সমস্যার ক্ষেত্রে ম্যাজিকের মতো কাজ করে।

নিজেকে কন্ট্রোল করুন

যেখানে সন্দেহ থাকে সেখানে ভালোবাসা থাকে না। একজন সন্দেহপ্রবণ ব্যক্তি কখনো মন থেকে ভালোবাসতে পারে না। তবে এটা যদি আপনার সাথে হয় মানে আপনার স্বামী বা স্ত্রী যদি আপনাকে অহেতুক সন্দেহ করে তাহলে রেগে না গিয়ে নিজেকে কন্ট্রোল করা শিখুন। তার কথায় কান না দিয়ে সামনের দিকে এগিয়ে চলুন, তাকে পাত্তা না দিয়ে মনকে শক্ত করুন।পরিস্থিতিকে সময়ের উপর ছেড়ে দিন। বাস্তবে কেউ যখন আপনাকে সন্দেহ করছে তখন সে হয় তো কল্পনা করে সন্দেহ করছে অথবা কেউ তাকে আপনার নামে মিথ্যা অভিযোগ ঢুকিয়ে দিয়েছে সেক্ষেত্রে আপনার করণীয় হবে বাস্তবে চুপ করে থাকা। এই সব পরিস্থিতির সৃষ্টি হলে চুপ করে থাকলে সময়ের কারণে এসব অমূলক সন্দেহ এমনি এমনি দূর হয়ে যাবে।

খোলাখুলিভাবে আলোচনা করুন

অনেকে মনে করেন যে সঙ্গী হয়তো তাকে ছেড়ে চলে যাবেন। আপনার সঙ্গেও এমন হয়ে থাকলে আগে সমস্যাটি বোঝার চেষ্টা করুন। আপনার আচরণগত কোনো সমস্যা থাকলে সেটি পরিবর্তনের চেষ্টা করুন। আবার প্রতিটি মানুষেরই চাওয়া-পাওয়া, কথা ভিন্ন রকম হয়ে থাকে। আপনি সঙ্গীকে যেমন ভাববেন, সঙ্গী সবসময় সে রকম নাও ভাবতে পারেন। এখানে সন্দেহেরে সৃষ্টি হতে পারে। তাই এ ধরনের বিষয় নিয়ে দুজনে আলোচনা করতে পারেন।

বিশ্বাস হারাবেন না

আপনার স্বামী বা স্ত্রীর ওপরে বিশ্বাস রাখুন। বিশ্বাসের উপরেই টিকে থাকে একটা সম্পর্কের স্থায়িত্ব। আপনি যখনি আপনার ভালোবাসার মানুষটিকে মন থেকে বিশ্বাস করবেন দেখবেন এসব সন্দেহ আপনার ধারে কাছেও আসবে না। তাই একে অপরের প্রতি বিশ্বাস কাছেও আসবে না। তাই একে অপরের প্রতি বিশ্বাস রাখুন। একে অন্যের বিশ্বাসের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাশীল হোন। তাহলেই আর এসব সন্দেহ মনে বাসা বাঁধতে পারবেন না।

নিজেকে ব্যস্ত রাখুন

একটা কথা আছে না, অলস মস্তিস্ক শয়তানের কারখানা। এজন্য নিজেকে যথাসম্ভব ব্যস্ত রাখুন। আপনি হাতে কোনো কাজ-কর্ম আছেন নেই বলেই হয়তো ভালোবাসার মানুষটিকে অহেতুক সন্দেহ করে অস্থির হয়ে যাচ্ছেন। তাই নিজেকে কোনো সৃষ্টিশীল কাজে ব্যস্ত রাখতে পারেন অথবা নামাজ-কালামে একটু বেশি মনোযোগী হতে পারেন। এতে আপনার সময় ভালো কাটবে আর সঙ্গীকে নিয়ে অযথা বাজে চিন্তা করার সময় কম পাবেন।

সন্দেহ প্রবণতার কুফল

সন্দেহ থেকে জন্ম নেয় ভয় বা আতঙ্ক। একটা থেকে আরেকটার সৃষ্টি হয় যার জন্য সুন্দর জীবনটাই ব্যর্থ হয়ে যায়। ভালো জিনিসটাকে খারাপ মনে করা, স্ত্রীর সাথে ভুল বোঝাবুঝি থেকে সন্দেহ ও অবিশ্বাস, ইত্যাদি খবই মারাত্মক মানসিক সমস্যা। এই সমস্যা সন্দেহ ও অবিশ্বাসের কারণেই মানুষ খুন করে, অপরাধমূলক কাজ করে থাকে এমনকী আত্মহত্যা করতেও দ্বিধা করে না। কেউ যদি বলে, এখন খাওয়ার সময়, তখন মনে করে এর পিছনেও কোনো বদ উদ্দেশ্য আছে। ফলে আর খেতে চায় না, এমনকি ওষুধও খেতে চায় না, ভাবে এর পিছন হয়তো কোনো ষড়যন্ত্র আছে।

সন্দেহ করতে না চাইলেও এই ব্যাপারটি কমবেশি আমাদের সবার সাথেই ঘটে থাকে। এটি যে শুধু স্বামী-স্ত্রীর মধ্যে হয় তা কিন্তু নয়, খুব বেশি সন্দেহপ্রবণ হলে নিজের পরিবারের অন্য মানুষের পাশাপাশি পাশের বাড়ির প্রতিবেশী, অফিসের বস-সহকর্মী, বন্ধু-বান্ধবসহ সকলকে সন্দেহ হয়। সন্দেহের কারণে অনেকসময় আমরা চরম সত্যকেও মিথ্যায় রুপান্তরিত করে ফেলি। আত্মীয় স্বজন বন্ধু বান্ধব ও সহকর্মীদের সাথে সম্পর্কচ্ছেদ করে ফেলি। কোন লোকের মধ্যে যদি ভাল-মন্দ দুটি ‍দিকই সমানভাবে থাকে তাহলে কেবল অনুমান করে তার সম্পর্কে খারাপ ধারণা পোষণ করা ইসলামে সম্পূর্ণ নাজায়েয। পবিত্র কুরআনে আল্লাহ্পাক বলেন-

“হে ঈমানদারগণ, বেশী ধারণা ও অনুমান করা থেকে বিরত থাকো কারণ কোনো কোনো ধারণা ও অনুমান গোনাহ।” (সূরা আল-হুজুরাতঃ ১২)

আল্লাহ্‌পাক আরও বলেছেন-

 “হে ঈমান গ্রহণকারীগণ, যদি কোন ফাসেক তোমাদের কাছে কোন খবর নিয়ে আসে তাহলে তা অনুসন্ধান করে দেখ। এমন যেন না হয় যে, না জেনে শুনেই তোমরা কোন গোষ্ঠীর ক্ষতি করে বসবে এবং পরে নিজেদের কৃতকর্মের জন্য লজ্জিত হবে।” (সূরা আল হুজুরাতঃ ৬)

মানবতার মহান শিক্ষক রাসূল (সাঃ) বলেছেন-

“কোন ব্যক্তির মিথ্যাবাদী হওয়ার জন্য এতটুকুই যথেষ্ট যে সে যা শুনে তা বলে বেড়ায়।”

হযরত লোকমান (আ:) বলেন-

“সন্দেহপ্রবণতা ত্যাগ করতে না পারলে দুনিয়ায় তুমি কোনো বন্ধু খুঁজে পাবে না।”

শেষকথা

সন্দেহ শব্দটা শুনতে সহজ মনে হলেও এই শব্দের ক্ষমতা অনেক। সন্দেহ নামক রোগ পোকা যার মনের ঘরে আশ্রয় নেয় তাকে একেবারে মানসিক যন্ত্রণার চূড়ান্ত পর্যায়ে নিয়ে যায় এবং নিঃশেষ করে ফেলে। বিশেষ করে স্বামী বা স্ত্রীর মধ্যে যখন এই সন্দেহের বিষ ঢোকে তখন সেই ঘরে আর সুখ-শান্তি থাকে না।
